These first weeks of 2025 have left me sitting with so much swirling in my heart. Every morning, I wake up to notifications about another political disgrace, another shift in our collective reality, another reason for anxiety about tomorrow. My social feeds are flooded with fellow creators diving headfirst into their content as normal, scheduling podcast episodes, and mapping out their year with such certainty. While on the flip side, others are using their voice to speak on the impacts we will be facing as a collective. As for me…I found myself reflecting on my social responsibility for this current timeline.
As I sit here, feeling the weight of our uncertain world, I’m reflecting on who I really am and what I’m truly called to do. Yes, I’m the host of The Conscious Publicist® Podcast amongst many other titles. Yes, I’m a voice, writer, and a woman with purpose. But more than that, I’m a spiritual being trying to make sense of this messy, unpredictable world we’re living in.
And lately, this calling to contribute something meaningful, to truly show up for our collective healing—it’s a voice that gets louder each day I open my eyes. My social responsibility for the timeline we are on feels less like a choice and more like a whisper from my soul that’s growing louder each day. This pause and reflection on the part I play, though uncomfortable, has been needed. In a world that often demands constant movement, action, and reaction, choosing to step back and truly listen—to myself, to my community, and to the collective pulse of our times—has revealed truths I can no longer ignore.
The Evolution of a Conscious Voice
For years, I’ve dedicated myself to helping inspiring people awaken the stories and messages they were destined to share. My work has centered on guiding these visionaries to share their stories with a great sense of purpose. I’ve always believed in the power of conscious communication, helping my clients navigate the delicate balance between visibility and vulnerability, between impact and integrity.
But recently, I’ve experienced my own profound awakening about what it truly means to be a conscious voice in today’s world. This awakening didn’t come as a lightning bolt of inspiration or a download during meditation. Instead, it emerged forcefully through countless scrolls with those who are currently sharing their struggles, hopes, and fears about showing up authentically in an increasingly complex and polarizing time and space in this world.
A Personal Confession
I have a confession to make, one that feels both vulnerable and necessary: I’ve kept my light dimmed for social advocacy in the past. Out of fear—fear of controversy, fear of alienation, fear of saying and doing the wrong thing—I’ve held back from fully expressing my beliefs and perspectives on issues that matter deeply to me. As I recorded my latest podcast episode, sitting in my creation with a growing awareness of the life I’m carrying (more on this later), I realized how this self-imposed silence has been a disservice not only to myself but to the communities I love, respect, and admire.
This realization comes at an increasingly shifting time in my life. As I journey toward motherhood, my perspective on responsibility—both personal and public—has shifted dramatically. I’m seeing with new eyes how my role as a community curator, podcast host, and spiritual woman carries a deeper calling. Every belief and decision I make now feels weighted with immense significance, knowing that I’m not just shaping my future and well-being but contributing to the world and well-being my child will inherit.
The Intersection of Spirituality and Social Responsibility
The Conscious Publicist® Podcast’s narrative has always been about exploring public relations through my eyes, thought leadership, and entrepreneurship through a conscious lens. But today, I’m expanding this vision because I’ve come to understand that consciousness cannot exist in a vacuum. True consciousness demands awareness not just of our inner matrix but of the social fabric we’re all part of.
My platform(s) and all the spaces that I create or will create explicitly stands for human rights, LGBTQIA+ and trans rights, reproductive freedom, racial equality, disability rights, and environmental justice. This statement is about acknowledging that spiritual awakening isn’t just about personal transformation. It’s about recognizing our interconnectedness and the responsibility that comes with it.
When I meditate, I don’t just seek personal peace but collective peace with actions that follow. For me, each moment of stillness I gift myself carries with it a call to action. While my influence might seem small in the grand scheme of things, I believe deeply in the ripple effect of conscious belief, choices, and the bravery it takes to give people a voice. That’s why in the coming months and years, I’m committing to featuring more diverse voices and stories that embody this intersection of social responsibility.
Creating a New Kind of Space
The Conscious Publicist® Podcast is now evolving into more than just a podcast—it’s becoming a sanctuary for truth-telling and vulnerable dialogue. In practical terms, this means:
- Amplifying Diverse Voices: I’m actively seeking out and featuring guests who bring different perspectives and experiences to our conversations about spirituality, business, storytelling, and collaborative transformation for all. This includes leaders from marginalized communities, activists who blend spiritual practice with social responsibility, and entrepreneurs who are redefining success through a lens of collective well-being.
- Addressing Complex Topics: This will be a space for authentic dialogue about real experiences. My hope is that guests will share their personal and community stories openly, bringing vital perspectives to complex social experiences.
- Practical Action Steps: Each episode will now include concrete ways listeners can translate spiritual insights into meaningful action in their communities and spheres of influence.
- Community Engagement: I’m developing new ways for our community to connect and collaborate, recognizing that collective wisdom is more powerful than any single voice.
The Personal Journey of Showing Up
This evolution hasn’t been easy. I’ve had to confront my biases, examine my privileges, and question long-held beliefs about the role of spiritual leaders in social change. This has also meant having uncomfortable conversations with myself and others. I’ve made mistakes and will undoubtedly make more.
But what I’ve learned is that perfection isn’t the goal—presence is. Being present to the pain in our world without turning away, to the joy of connection and the power of collective action, to the reality that every choice we make as leaders and creators either reinforces old patterns or helps create new ones.
The Ripple Effect of Conscious Choice
Each time I step up to the microphone now, I carry a new awareness of the ripple effect our words and actions create. When we speak our truth with both courage and compassion, we permit others to do the same. When we acknowledge our growth edges and learning curves, we create space for authentic dialogue about what conscious leadership means in practice.
A Promise to My Community
